FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Customers should know that the lowest price is not always the best option when it comes to flooring installation. Choosing the cheapest installer often leads to shortcuts, improper preparation, and work that does not meet manufacturer standards — which can void warranties and reduce the lifespan of your floors. As NWFA-certified installers, we follow proper industry guidelines and manufacturer specifications to ensure a high-quality, long-lasting installation. Our pricing is transparent and fair. We clearly outline: • Installation cost per square foot • Material pricing per square foot • Linear-foot pricing for baseboards and shoe molding • Flat rates for carpet removal and haul-away We take the time to explain every part of the estimate so you fully understand what you’re receiving. Our goal is to provide fair pricing without cutting corners, ensuring your investment is protected and your floors perform the way they’re meant to.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When a new flooring request comes in, we contact the client as quickly as possible to gather initial information—such as the flooring style, color, and thickness they are interested in. From there, we schedule an in-home appointment to fully assess the project. During the visit, we inspect the existing floors, baseboards, and any areas that may require demolition, moisture testing, or leveling. If the project is in an apartment or condo, we also check HOA requirements and offer cork underlayment when needed for sound control. For homes with tile over concrete, we provide complete demolition and concrete grinding to ensure a smooth and compliant surface. All removal work is done using OSHA-regulated dust-control vacuums to keep the home as clean and dustless as possible. After the evaluation, we help the client select the appropriate flooring based on durability, performance, and environmental conditions. Once the project begins, we guide the client through each stage of the process, communicating clearly and keeping them involved from start to finish. If anything unexpected arises during the job, we immediately inform the client and work together to find the best solution. Our goal is to ensure a smooth, transparent, and professional experience with no surprises.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have received two certifications from the National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA), but my training goes far beyond that. For nearly 10 years, I have invested in continuous education to stay updated with the latest flooring technology, standards, and installation requirements. In the contracting field—especially when working on people’s homes—improper work can become very costly, so ongoing education is essential. The flooring industry is not primitive; it evolves constantly. There are different types of underlayment, adhesives, sound-control systems, and fasteners. In addition, there are moisture and flatness tolerances, flooring acclimation requirements, and specific installation methods that must be followed to maintain manufacturer warranties. To stay current with these standards, we regularly research products, speak directly with manufacturers of installation materials, and consult NWFA-certified flooring inspectors to ensure that every project meets the highest level of quality. Instead of assuming the trade never changes, we stay proactive and informed. The NWFA continues to advance technology and installation science, so maintaining ongoing education is essential to delivering safe, correct, and long-lasting flooring installations for every client.
