FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing depends on the project scope, technical complexity, required deliverables, and turnaround time. Typical pricing includes: - 1-hour mechanical design or test-fixture consultation: $150–$250 - CAD and fixture design projects: typically $1,500–$5,000+ - Larger or more complex projects: quoted after an initial discussion Before beginning work, I provide a clear scope, estimated schedule, deliverables, and pricing. Additional work or major scope changes are discussed and approved before proceeding.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
1. Initial consultation: We discuss the problem, project objectives, requirements, constraints, timeline, and expected deliverables. 2. Scope and proposal: I define the recommended approach, project milestones, pricing, and information needed from the customer. 3. Initial design or review: I develop the initial concept, analysis, CAD model, or engineering recommendations. 4. Customer review: We review the proposed solution together and identify any necessary revisions. 5. Final delivery: I incorporate the agreed-upon feedback and provide the final drawings, models, analysis, or documentation. 6. Project closeout: We review the completed deliverables and address any final questions.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
