Wow! I got on a Thumbtack kick and looked at all the things I can do (tree trimming, solar panel cleaning, window washing) and booked all the things. I was in desperate need of getting my hair done (highlights/cut) and I typed it in to see what Thumbtack had to offer, and there was Gena…
I knew it would be a 50/50 shot on a) availability and b) quality. I was absolutely floored when both came through with exceeding my expectations.
I’ve been to some of the best hair specialists in San Francisco, and Gena beat them all out of the water. She actually got my highlights lifted to exactly what I’ve wanted, but never really got there with other experts.
Gena was an absolute delight, and I’m hopeful she will continue her craft and able to come to my place for beautiful hair for years to come.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I often include a blowout with each service- that is not a la carte.
There are no hidden fees- and I like to be very honest and up front when it comes to prices.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to have at least a minimum 15 minute face to face conversation first. There’s a lot you can pick up over the phone, or by sending pics- but I often find it’s a whole other dynamic in person that often changes the course of the service.
