Introduction: I am an opera tenor and actor with international performing experience including the World Tour of Phantom of The Opera and 300 stage roles, offering voice lessons for all musical styles, especially for classical and musical theater. First lesson is a free introduction lasting at least a half hour. Then $50 per online lesson lasting at least 60 minutes. Please add comments on your favorite music and singers when you apply. I teach online and in South San Francisco, CA. SEE REVIEW BY DEL LAZARO BELOW As a professional vocalist, I highly recommend Ross Halper for voice instruction. With my band Legaci, I have toured as a backup singer for Justin Bieber, and more recently, I wowed the judges on AMERICA'S GOT TALENT 2014, receiving a standing ovation from the audience. Ross is an amazing instructor who has helped me improve my voice tremendously. He is a classically trained tenor who's sung around the world. Ross applies classical voice techniques that work toward improving your voice for any style, whether it's classical, musical theater, or pop. He has many vocal tools to improve all aspects of your voice, and will work with to push you beyond your limits. (And he doesn't watch the clock!) When I first started with Ross, my higher range was limited, and my voice felt weak and unsupported. Studying with him for several years, I've learned techniques that have made my voice stronger and more resonant. In addition, he's helped sing in my tenor range with more confidence. I'm now singing the higher notes that I never thought would be possible. If you are looking to make some real vocal progress with a passionate and knowledgeable vocal instructor, then begin studying with Ross Halper." Sincerely, Del Lazaro

Ross Halper has been my singing teacher for several years now. Following his instruction, has developed and expanded my voice in ways that were unexpected , and the discovery process was very positive. My range has expanded , both high and low , and I am now learning classical operatic and broadway repertoire that was unimaginable just a few years ago. His lessons continue to advance and reveal a bigger , better and more consistent tone in my singing voice. I definitely recommend R.H. as a singing teacher. I also recommend him as a vocal coach for advanced singers , who would benefit greatly from his tailored advice, to advance to the next level. Thanks Ross, John Ilyin

I have learned an incredible amount from Ross and his instruction has improved my singing dramatically. Ross has a tremendous amount of experience and talent that he's able to transmit to his students, all while making sure they have a great time in the process! Working with Ross has been absolutely amazing. I had no formal experience with voice going into lessons, and Ross has given me a tremendous amount of guidance and instruction on all aspects of the voice. I would recommend Ross to anyone thinking about taking voice lessons!

Ross is super helpful in letting you find your voice! Able to remedy issues you may be having with your voice by providing solutions that actually work. Utilizes techniques to get the most out of your range. He was able to tell me I was a tenor, showed me how to properly use breath while singing, catered lessons to my specific singing style, and much more. He doesn't try to make you sound like what you aren't. Most importantly, his lessons are fun. You want an instructor that you feel you could get along with? It would be Ross. Highly recommended!

Ross was very helpful. He was very encouraging and that is necessary for someone like me who hasn't had lessons in years. Ross pointed out what I was doing right and we worked on that, then we moved on to things I needed to improve. I feel like in our one hour lesson I learned more than I have before. I can't wait for our next session :). I would highly recommend for any singer, no matter what level, to have a lesson with Ross.

Even as a professional singer who has made appearances on America's Got Talent, The Singoff, and X-Factor, and who has performed as a Backup Singer for Justin Bieber, Usher, and Mary J Blige, I believe there is always room for improvement. Ross has been an amazing vocal instructor for me. I've worked with Ross for over two years, and he has helped open up my voice, tone and range. Singing as a baritone/bass most of my life, Ross was the first instructor to tell me that I was a tenor. Previous to Ross' instruction, singing any note above a middle F meant either yelling or transitioning to falsetto. Once I started working with Ross, I was able to sing an F# comfortably, then a G, then a G#. And it hasn't stopped. Ross uses classical technique, exercises, and visualization to help open up your voice. In addition, to Ross' technical expertise, he is also very easy to work with. He has a welcoming and comedic personality that makes every lesson fun. I would highly recommend Ross as a vocal instructor for singers at any level in their career.
