I posted an ad on Thumbtack for a landscaper to redo an irrigation system, install 2 drip lines and plant a bunch of flowers and a tree. Jose was quick to respond, professional and prompt. We arranged a time for him to provide a quote. He was on time and once he made the bid we hired him on the spot. He told me he would call me later that day to let me know when the soonest his crew could begin was.
I received a call that same day (Saturday) that work would commence Monday at 700am. As agreed, I went to purchase all of the flowers and the tree that needed to be planted.
I tried calling him numerous times on Sunday while purchasing the plants to ask questions but never received a call back. I also emailed him. I assumed he was busy since it was Sunday and didn't think anything of it.
On Monday I got home from work and to my shock, no one had showed up! The lawn was completely as I had left it, tree still in its box and everything untouched. I tried calling Jose numerous times but the phone had been shut off. Emails went unanswered. I tried the number listed on Thumbtack and left a voicemail that was never returned.
Tuesday also resulted in no one showing up and no word from Jose. He disappeared. No notice, nothing. I hired him and he bailed.
Very unprofessional, no communication. A no-show. This is such a shame because I had such high hopes.
Stay away - this will be a waste of your time.
