Ask your provider what kind of results they gurantee? The answer can be an indicator of how professional and experienced they are in providing inbound marketing.
Gurantees are very flimsy in this industry, a true web marketing professional willdiscuss the possibilities with you rather than give you the "gurantee statement" you want to hear.
Ask for simple measurable goals like: get me ranked on page 1, for "keyword X", within 90 days. Avoid asking for (or being offered) things like being guranteed new qualified traffic to boost sales. Simple, defined, & measurablegoals will tell you how well the provider understands the landscape.
