Introduction: I give over and above what is promised in the pet sitting agreement. I go out of my way to help my clients with transport to vet or other when they need it, or references to other services, like great boarding facilities, when the pet cannot stay at home. I carefully screen anyone I refer to care for the pets if I am booked and cannot do so myself. I care about the animals as if they are my own. My clients are the nicest, kindest, most generous people, who trust me with their pets and their homes. They love their animals and want the best care for them. Many of my pet clients are rescued animals, which says a lot for their owners. Plus, I get to spend time with some wonderful animals and get paid to do it. How great is that? This is the best job in the world.

We've used Heather regularly for over the past year. She is fantastic with our senior pet - caring, responsible, and always looking after his needs. Heather is very professional and reliable. Heather has sat for my dogs and cats and she is fantastic. You can tell she had a love for our pets and since they are my kids that means the world to me. I highly recommend her, she will take good care of your "kids" and she will keep them safe which gives me peace of mind.

What types of customers have you worked with?
Companionship, feeding, walking, litter control, brushing, phone/email updates to owner, water plants, collect mail. Provide lots of love and TLC. When I stay at the home, I tidy up before leaving, wash linens, vacuum, clean kitchen and dishes.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Do not always choose the cheapest. Get references. Interview the pet sitter, and watch your pet's reaction to the pet sitter. Does your pet act distant, frightened or at ease and friendly toward the person? Animals are very intuitive and they will tell you whether they like the person, or not. Ask your veterinarian for a list of petsitters and call each. Check with Angies' List and Thumbtack.
