Introduction: The Scriptwriters Network, founded in 1986, is an educational, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) non-profit, volunteer-driven organization created by writers for writers and industry professionals. The Network serves its members by providing educational programming, enhancing their awareness of the realities of the business, developing access and opportunity through alliances with industry professionals, and furthering the cause and quality of writing in the entertainment industry. Whether you are a filmmaker, a screenwriter, a television scriptwriter or involved in screenwriting for non-traditional media, we help take your writing to the next level. Our membership is as varied as our guest speaker list, which includes movie screenwriters and directors, television writers, video game & comic book writers, novelists, agents, managers, professors, career experts, accountants, and more.

FAQs

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Come and learn how to succeed in Hollywood. We have several Writers Groups that are a simple, effective way to improve your scripts. They provide you with feedback on screenplays, outlines and works-in-progress. At each meeting, the group members give notes on a script submitted by one of the members at the previous meeting. The groups are organized geographically, meet regularly at the discretion of the group and its moderator and have between six and twelve members. Check out the groups' Guidelines on Feedback and Etiquette. Contact Writers Groups Director Dan Margules (writersgroups@scriptwritersnetwork.org) or individual group moderators for meeting information.
