FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Though Sal Home Remodeling is always dedicated to saving our clients money, we will never do so at the expense of the quality of work we provide. The best way for a homeowner to get the best deal on the price they pay for their new project is making sure to get the best quality product for the best price possible. Going just by the lowest price carries the potential of only gaining a temporary savings by getting a poor quality workmanship that will need to be redone doubling the cost at the end. Or even worse, getting a contractor that is willing to skip out on carrying workers compensation or potentially even having a valid Contractor’s license. Though accidents are rare, and Sal Home Remodeling is fortunate to have never had an accident, for the sake of our workers, compliance with the law and protecting our clients from having liability we have always made sure to maintain and carry all of the necessary insurances for everyone’s safety and protection. With Insurance costs averaging over $2500 and up per project, some companies will see it as an opportunity to save money in order to provide the lowest price and gain the homeowners business while misrepresenting their coverage or value of the end product they will provide. Here at Sal Home Remodeling we take advantage of the volume of projects we have each year to distribute the overhead of our monthly expenses required to operate by code with the necessary licenses/ insurances across as many projects as possible thus cutting down the amount we charge for each individual project. Another benefit of having a customer centered business model where we always treat our clients best interest and satisfaction as our top priority, has resulted in roughly half of our new customers being the direct result of referrals from our existing customers. For that reason unlike most companies we haven’t had to spend massive amounts of money on advertising that would then have to be recouped by the prices charged to customers. Being known as having the most affordable prices for great quality workmanship has gone a long way towards cultivating the positive reputation we have throughout the community. Working with and having direct relationships with all of the top suppliers and manufacturers allows us to constantly have new promotions saving our clients, 10%, 20% and even up to 35% off on various construction materials. Another way that homeowners can make sure they’re getting the best return on their investment in their future home remodeling upgrade is by remembering to consider the differences in energy efficiency of various materials. Sal Home Remodeling has always been at the forefront of new technology resulting in our current expertise on energy efficiency in Home Improvement upgrades today. Understanding the impact that different materials will have on the energy efficiency of any Home Upgrade allows us to advise our clients in ways that result in getting the best value of energy efficiency and quality for the most affordable price. Certain materials we use in various projects for example, are some of the many techniques by which we can minimize the homeowner’s future expenses on maintenance as a result. The majority of the feedback our clients provide us with is the shock by how much lower their utility bill is and how much easier it is to regulate the temperature in their home now as well as lower water usage. - What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The introduction any potential customer gets when starting their relationship with Sal Home Remodeling is usually in the form of receiving their Free In-Home Consultation with one of our trained and knowledgeable Project Managers. Every consultation starts with conducting our custom developed point by point on-site inspection relating to the specific project the home owner is requesting and complimentary inspection report will be provided upon request. We start off by checking the existing condition of the proposed work space to determined best course of action. As with everything we do for our clients, we first start off by informing them of what our process is and explaining the significance in doing it the specific way in which we do it. Checking the condition of the work space is important because most if not all home remodeling projects needs to be done with city permits. Calculating the exact cost prior to providing an estimate by paying attention to the small details by our knowledgeable technicians is an expense that needs to be calculated and disclosed to the homeowner before starting any home improvement upgrade so our clients will always know the true final cost of their home remodeling expenses before they sign a contract or start the project. Some companies will unfortunately wait until the demolition phase of the project has been completed before disclosing the code and/or city/state requirements that will need to be met in order to pass inspection which will not reflect on the true cost of the original contract, resulting in an unpleasant surprise expense for the homeowner in the middle of the project. That’s why it’s important that customers always compare apples to apples (like estimates) rather than relying on a quote that doesn’t include the full scope of work needed to comply with all of the city and state building and safety code requirements. We believe that a solid foundation to any relationship is built upon trust, and will always make sure to maintain full transparency at all times. Once we conclude our point by point inspection, each project manager will create a complimentary inspection report for the homeowner on site and consult with the office to ensure any and all possible discounts have been applied in order to guarantee each potential new customer is given the lowest price possible. Prior to going over the complimentary point by point inspection report, each potential customer is presented with proof of insurance, bond, workers compensation and active Contractor’s License. Going over each step of the project in detail (as written in the inspection report) will go a long way towards avoiding any miscommunication ensuring our customers are always informed and on the same page with every step of the project. Once each project is evaluated to ensure all possible discounts have been applied, the customer is presented with the complete report and a price quote good for 1 month. Unlike many of our competitors we prefer to give our clients the time they need to feel fully comfortable with making their decision and going through the process of having their vision come to life.
