Tim is a true artist. His work is beautiful and we are extremely happy with our "one of a kind" piece. We commissioned a Bar Cabinet and we had a specific design in mind. He worked with my husband and I to give us what we wanted in terms of design and he enhanced the piece with his ideas and craftsmanship. He kept us updated and was very responsive to our queries. The project took longer than I expected but my husband kept telling me "it's an artist's process". In the end we have a gorgeous new piece of .... Art.

I contacted several people on Thumbtack for a quote to refinish a china cabinet that my grandmother had. Tim got back to me in a timely manner and was always polite. He drove quite a ways from his studio to my home and took time with me to explain the process and what to expect. He delivered my piece this morning and it looks beautiful. I am happy to have contacted Tim as I can now enjoy this piece for decades to come. I could not recommend him enough.

I acquired a lovely old dining room cabinet. I could not afford to have it refinished, but Tim painted and repaired it and it looks wonderful! His reasonable price included pick-up and delivery. The only glitch was a delay in finishing the job due to a piece of his equipment that had to be repaired. I am extremely pleased with the results and would highly recommend Tim Martinez to others.

T.I.M. was awesome. He went above and beyond in customer satisfaction. He had a great attitude and is very knowledgeable is his trade. Picked up and delivered our piece in a timely fashion and had great communication throughout. We are very happy with the finished product and T.I.M listened to exactly what we wanted and mad either reality. I would defiantly refer him and will use him again if anything pops up.

Most of my work is by bid. Everything is custom.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I grew up around wood. My grandfather was a draftsman for an architectural mill works company in Los Angeles. His work includes the interiors of the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, J. Paul Getty's home on PCH, the Ambassador Auditorium in Pasadena and numerous others. He was raised by his great uncle, lumber barron E.K. Wood, once the owner of the biggest selling lumber company in California and the first in US history to ship lumber via railway.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
A built-in entertainment center with hand carved roses, burl veneered panels and my own designed and hand made hardware. Start to finish, about 2 months.
