High Desert Relative Caregivers

Introduction: Support and resource program for grandparents, aunts, uncles, and others raising relative children. We provide emotional support for families that are ripped apart due to drugs, incarceration, alcohol, and even death within the family that leaves children vulnerable or in danger. We hold free, bi-monthly support groups for the relative caregivers to be able to share their feelings of despair, loneliness, anxiety, depression, and perceived failures and give them hope. We teach each other how to overcome the feeling of being a victim, and we in turn, teach the children how to overcome being victims of circumstance. We work closely with the San Bernardino Dept. of Child and Family Services and the Dept. of Aging and Adult Services, as well as numerous non-profit agencies in the Victor Valley area.
