I am an athlete at heart and I found myself completely unhappy with my body and health about a year ago. After trying to work on my self esteem first, I decided in September it was time to get back into fitness like I had been my whole life. I came on thumbtack and scheduled meetings with five different trainers. I met with JJ first and cancelled the rest before I even had a workout with him. Honestly I hired him only based off of his personality and game plan for for getting me back into shape. He literally is one of the funniest people I have met. However he doesn't mess around when it's time to work. And each workout I find that he can push me to limits I didn't know I had. I have lost 24 pounds so far but have become so much stronger and healthier. We weight lift, do cardio, and he has taught me personal defense. I was skeptical paying money to get fit but I'm investing in my health and it truly makes me happy. (He is going to make fun of me for getting sappy on this but whatever he deserves it)
We took women's self defense classes with Ernest. He was professional and fun. After the class I feel I am Much more comfortable about my ability to defend myself. Also my guy friends no longer think it's fun to sneak up and hug me from behind. They only do it once! Haha
Lila was an amazing instructor! She was prompt to my messages and made the whole process so easy for me! Also, my sorority sisters and I really appreciated all of the basic self-defense moves she taught us. Lila was also really understanding when I accidentally sent her to the wrong place to park, but luckily she arrived at UCI early enough to get to the sorority house when she needed to. Highly recommend!
I take a self-defense/kickboxing class with Jorge twice a week. He's an amazing instructor, able to teach practical self-defense and kickboxing concepts while giving me a great workout! The power, speed, and technique of my kicks and punches have improved drastically since training with him. Jorge, thanks so much for your guidance and knowledge. Let's hit those mitts again soon! I would highly recommend him. I hired him last week for self defense classes. He is very educated about fitness and human anatomy. Even though my back pain puts limitations, however he was able to design a specific program to improve my overall health.
Very straight forward, real world applications, which is exactly what we need - just get right down to it. We have tried other self defense courses which spend a lot of time on learning discipline and self control (which is great if that's what someone is looking for) but this jumps right in and we're learning real world techniques in the first minute. Highly recommend and looking forward to the next session.

I've been rated number-one state champion in weapons for over 6 yr. I am 1990 international champion and rated top three in the nation. I teach krav mega, Kenpo and my other arts and weapons also.

I also offer clients the opportunity to learn simple, easy-to-perform exercises that require little or no equipment and are designed to improve strength, endurance, flexibility, and general technical skill for more rigorous training later on in their martial arts career.
