Removed jaccuzzi tub and wall tile, demo was great 1 day. I bought all the material. Installed shower and tile. Very poor calking. Used grout to cover top holes in corners, I had to redo. Cracked floor tile even though cautioned. Had no spare ceramic tile, so I had to redo the floor at added cost, but it looks nice. I ended up readjusting the room floor trim as the luxury vinyl plank set lower than the tile. Multiple issues with continued leakage of new shower control. Figured out it was not installed correctly, although the contractor denies it. But when I followed instructions about pre-locking in spring assembly before seating, it worked. Shower assembly had scuffs as work was not done with covering until I insisted. Shower install miscalculated, so contractor had to improvise. I insisted on reinforced high adhesion grout for tile above shower. The tile looks great. The contractor painted ( I supplied paint) my bathroom and the toilet area for free as he felt bad about complications. The wiring was great, installed new lighting above sink & removed old rusted long bulb wall lighting. Attention to detail was poor overall. The contractor said he would come back and fix concern. A good contractor should not have to come back and fix mistakes. He was the lowest bidder. The second one was about 3k more. I don't know what kind of job that one would have done, but I wished I'd tried. Many seams around the shower were not caulked, and those that were cracked. Due to shower material, caulk remover can not be used. I ended up spending as much as the second bidder and did a lot of work myself, like stripping out old ceramic tile on the floor. But I was not given a credit. Had they not damaged tile during tub removal, it would have been one less day labor for me and replacement vinyl saving. No credit was offered for fixing floor edging, but I guess the painting was the comp. I had to re-texture part of the toilet wall replaced from old jaccuzzi cutout & repaint as it did not match the rest of the wall. I am content with the way it looks but not the stress and issues that required fixing.
