FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I do not have a standard pricing system. My profession of management consulting involves wide ranging types of work needs with the client. If a fixed price can be proposed I will consider it, but a clear mutually agreed to work scope and deliverable products or services is required. Usually the work assistance being requested by a prospective client is not well or fully defined, so a billing hourly rate is usually proposed. If the work scope is, however, generally understood by the client and me, I will often accompany the hourly rate with a total "not-to-exceed" value. This approach in practical terms means I work for the client as a "time and material" type of arrangement with a maximum dollar amount which only changes if the client and I both agree to it.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Usually an introductory face-to-face discussion (aka, an interview) in which I seek to understand the client's need, their understanding of what has caused it, what actions they may have taken to resolve the issue(s) or achieve the goal, and fully understand their expectation in working with us.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelors degree in accounting with an undeclared major in chemistry and minors in math and management. I also have a Masters degree in business, with a focus in industrial management and operations research. I am comfortable with a wide range of industry environments, having worked with several over the years.
