Both Susan Salk, director, and Ney Fonseca, senior teacher, are 2nd generation teachers (certified by people who studied with Joseph Pilates himself) and they both studied the work for over 10 years before their teacher training. I began Pilates in 1998 and ten years later began a highly intense and demanding training apprenticeship program at Metropolitan Pilates in Seattle under the direction of world famous Master Teacher Dorothee VandeWalle (who tested and certified me). I more than doubled the number of required training hours and became certified on all equipment at all levels in 2009. Since then I have had the pleasure of teaching many, many students with a large spectrum of individual situations. I love what I do, and get no greater joy than to hear that someone feels better after their sessions.
