FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing depends greatly on how involved you would like your project to be. Are you looking for help rearranging your furniture and adding a few accent pieces to reinvigorate home? Are you looking for an extensive re-model to increase the functionality of your home and greatly increase your property value? Or would you like to majorly update a few key rooms without knocking down any walls? The more I know about your needs the more I can help you get clear on what to expect. And to that extent, while I initially charge by the hour, for some projects, I can charge per project phase as a way to help you mitigate the anxiety that can come with the unexpected.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When working with a new customer, I always stop by their space to meet with them in person and get to know their needs and wants. We talk about logistics like timing, budget, what can stay or go, and get into the details about how they want to feel and what is motivating their desire to change their space. Typically, within two weeks, I will send them a high-level design plan, budget, and possibilities for pinning down a particular design aesthetic. If the client is happy with this approach, they will sign a service agreement and we will begin to move forward. I communicate weekly with my clients to give them status updates and the opportunity to provide feedback to be sure there are no surprises. I'm happy to say that I have always completed projects on time and never over budget.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I come from a family of DIY'ers and began helping on projects as soon as I could walk (no joke!). I was the kid that sketched up room designs and organized friends' bedrooms. I've remodeled homes and am even building a house from the ground up with my husband. I've got a natural eye for what looks good, a shrewd talent for producing expensive looks on a budget, and a lot of tools and stamina for constructing just the right piece of furniture if needed. My background comes from real life experience and the opportunity to have helped many satisfied customers.
