FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I have no set pricing system. I value the job based on what I feel I can contribute. My consulting fees are reasonable and variable based on excitement and effort required. Often a project should be broken up into staged components.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Initial discussion to assess project goal and compatibility of relationship.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
While completing my PHD I was recruited by governors to politically represent them. I was later invited by one of the best US governors to move to his state to help a large state Chamber of Commerce by applying my people and project development skills to support member companies in developing international business relationships. I came in contact with many companies abroad looking for new technologies and products. By moving member company technologies abroad I came in contact with many scientists and researchers looking for ways to get their research converted to something of value. That led to my being recruited by The University of Chicago to work with top level scientists and researchers to develop and commercialize science and technology. That led me to work with many other universities in the US and abroad. After time it became clear that I could move into new companies as part of management. I then set up several biotech companies where I was one of the owners in partnerships with a lead scientist. I love challenge and upsetting standard assumptions. Being creative is core to being successful in business.
