Devon Near-Hill is a teaching and performing artist and Co-Founder/Co-Director of Denver School of Social Dance. Her movement background spans ballet, modern, capoeira, lambada, Brazilian Zouk, Kizomba, Tango, and more. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Expressive Arts Coaching and Community Building at California Institute of Integral Studies, deepening her work at the intersection of movement, connection, and coaching.
Devon discovered Lambada and Brazilian Zouk while earning her BFA in Acting at University of Southern California and has since become an internationally recognized teacher, competitor, and judge. She placed 2nd in the 2018 LA Zouk Festival Semipro US Brazilian Zouk Open as one of the first female leads, and currently serves as a judge for both the Brazilian Zouk Dance Council and the Lambada Dance Council.
She also works with couples—especially wedding dances—helping partners feel confident, connected, and natural, whether creating something simple or fully choreographed. Her teaching is rooted in embodied consent, adaptability, and helping people move with clarity and purpose.
