FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My estate planning services are all based on flat fees. A "basic full plan" consists of a Will, Living Will, General Durable Power of Attorney, and Medical Durable Power of Attorney. This plan is a flat fee of $500. If spouses are looking for substantially identical plans, I offer a flat fee of $600, which covers all 4 documents for both spouses. A basic Will alone is $300. The other documents are $75.00 each. Beneficiary Deeds are also $75.00 each. Other services, such as family law services, are primarily on an hourly basis. An uncontested divorce, however is a flat fee of $1,030.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I conduct a free initial consultation of up to 1 hour, allowing the new customer and I to get to know each other some and me to get to know the new customer's situation and what they would like to do about it. If the new customer decides we are a good fit, then we can do the fee agreement immediately. We can decide on an appropriate timeline for the next few steps at that time.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I do continuing education every year. I choose the classes based in part on what is going on in the cases I have so that I can stay sharp on the issues I am currently working on. Until a few years ago, I was qualified as a child care provider and took continuing education classes in that field as well.
