I reached out to Mile High because my back fence was starting to fall down and needed to be replaced. They got me on the schedule quickly and they had my back fence, plus 2 smaller sections, done in half a day even with the extra challenge I threw in when I asked for them to incorporate an existing feature. The fence looks great and is well built. It is going to be so nice to not have to worry about my fence falling over when my big dog jumps on it trying to catch squirrels.

I hired Mile High Fence and Landscape to remove my old privacy fence and install and stain a 6’ tall horizontal fence. They showed up promptly the following morning. It took a day and a half to complete. They used good quality cedar that looked great without any stain at all. I was pleased that even though they used nails to attach the horizontal boards to the 4X4’s, they used screws on all the finishing boards. It took longer than promised to get it stained but in the end I have a beautiful, sturdy fence that should last a very long time and the cost was very fair. The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the following. I was home the days they worked, but did leave once to walk the dog. When I left they were placing the posts so I asked how big the gate would be. I was told 40” is standard (my old gate was 46”) and I said that would be okay. I needed an electric wheelchair to fit through it. When I got home from my walk they had already placed all the posts in concrete. To my dismay, one of the posts for the gate was placed in front of the existing sidewalk by about 2”! I brought it up and was told that roots must have moved the auger over a couple of inches. I explained that I couldn’t even lay my final paver due to the location of the post and was told they would cut the paver for me (which they did). I wished I had told them to move it, but it seemed like too much work once it was cemented in. But that mistake reduced my gate to 36” instead of 40” and the sidewalk is not centered in the gate. I’m a bit of a perfectionist so that will always bother me. My 2 small peonies bushes got completely trampled during the build. I’m hoping they come back next year. Lastly, my dog ran up to the gate when another dog was walking in the greenbelt and came back with one of her eyes closed. I took her to the vet and they said she had a small puncture in her cornea. The following day I noticed 6 screws sticking through the fence. I can’t say for sure that was what caused it, but I suspect it was. I removed the screws so it wouldn’t happen again. Also, I was told they wanted to attach the fence to the house because it is better than a post being up against the house. I said okay not knowing any better, but I recently looked on the internet and it said you should ‘never attach a fence directly to your house’. I guess time will tell on that one. Overall, I am happy with my new fence and would recommend them to friends and family, but would explain my experience.
