FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
For mediation, $200 per hour for time spent working on the client's case, and $150 one time administration charge. My normal retainer is $2500 which is paid in advance, and any unused portion is refundable. For QDROs, flat fees of $350 for defined contribution plans and $500 for defined benefit plans (ie pensions). I offer a 10% discount for additional court orders requested at the same time.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For mediation, we will normally meet together for a free half hour for the potential clients to have their questions answered and for us to see if we want to work together. If we do, then we spend the rest of our first meeting exploring their situation and determining what information they need to collect and what other homework they will need to complete before we can start making decisions about finances and parenting.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA) and Professional Mediator, I took initial and advanced training in both areas. I am required to take regular continuing education classes.
