Rangler, the owner of Sustainable Roots, was absolutely WONDERFUL to work with. He was extremely professional, one of the most communicative subcontractors I've ever work with, delivered high quality work, and was a nice human. He came with great ideas for our front landscaping refresh and completed the work fast and great. I've already recommended him to others and will 100% use him again. He is my new go to!
Work Overview:
Replaced approx 10 feet of fencing.
Built French drainage for our gutters
Repainted our fence
Installed a trex front deck
Laid pavers for a short walkway.
Infilled river rock borders
Installed a mailbox pole

Rangler was so responsive, on time, and professional that it was quite possibly the first time I didn't bother getting another bid. I just knew he was the guy I wanted to work with. He took a yard without irrigation for 7 years and turned it into a beautiful xeriscaped curb appealing masterpiece. He even cleaned up some old mint and grape that went crazy, and was kind enough to put our trash cans out when we were gone and he was working. We couldn't be happier with this project outcome and Rangler.

I chose Rangler with Sustainable Root to install a sprinkler system in our front and back yard, level, prepare and lay down all new sod, and plant new bushes and one new tree.
The landscaping was done quickly, efficiently and looks great! His irrigation guys were extremely hard workers and very pleasant. The lawn area was full of dead tree roots and terrible rocky, compacted dirt so Rangler brought in equipment to remove one large tree stump and all of the roots. He then leveled the yard, brought in good soil and as requested laid Bermuda grass sod which requires 75% less water than typical grass.
New bushes, flowers and a beautiful maple tree were planted and the existing trees and bushes were trimmed up nicely and mulched which resulted in a beautiful finished product.
I'm very happy with Rangler and Sustainable Root and will hire him again for future projects!

I hired Rangler to sod my then-neglected front and back yards and to repair my sprinkler system. He made the whole process easy—from consultation, recommendation, contract, and work. He got me on his calendar quickly and finished his work on time. The work product was exceptional as was Rangler’s communication before and during the job. He’s an easy guy to get along with and I’d certainly hire him again.
Details: Residential • Medium (1,000 - 5,000 sq ft) • Installed onto existing lawn • Clear old grass or weeds • I need the pro to provide the sod

Sustainable Roots was able to complete my full demolition and revamp of my entire front and backyard. What we liked about Rangler was he listened to our needs especially with our new irrigation system he installed. We wanted to install water conscious irrigation heads and drip and he was able to deliver those needs for us. Also the patio that he installed is fantastic! Overall, we're very pleased with the work that was done and we can now enjoy our newly landscaped yard and patio.
