I was under the impression that painters did just that, paint. K& Company's owner, Kristen, provided me with a 101 on exterior staining, products used and the brands that would help protect my home. While all about the quality of work, she pointed out how the harsh mountain elements can fade the color while drying out the wood leaving it exposed to potentially costly damage. Her consultation skills were what sold me. While a bit pricier per gallon than your avg stain ( Benjamin Moore, while a household name, doesnt come close to providing the protection youd feel comfortable with), we settled on a solid stain (solid paint finish but in a stain)by Sashco which is used specifically for homes that sit 2 miles up and exposed to over 300 days of sunlight. Treating my home with this product would provide 5-10 years of protection compared to 1-2 years if I went with my original choice in BM. So, thank you for the education and the fantastic job done within the scheduled time frame. All at a a rate you cannot beat when considering the expertise and experience she brought to the project. I wish I had known about K&Company last year when an inferior stain was used leaving me scratching my head a year later as my house is splotched, faded and clearly splitting in the corners. I have attached pics of the magnificent job her crew did taken from my friends drone before we put the house up for sale.
