FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Yes :) I charge $40 an hr at my home-studio and $50 an hr at your home within the city limits.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I learn everything I can about my students' musical background, favorite learning style and interests outside music and create a platform to grow on. This is the beginning of their custom curriculum in which I show them all of the different musical subjects in the best way for them specifically.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Though I don't have a degree from a 4-year university, I did participate in a 2 year Teacher In Cooperation Apprenticeship with Andy Tran in Cupertino, CA 2009-2011 Also what makes a musician is not necessarily talent; it's 10 years of private lessons and 10,000 hours of practice. Much like being a doctor or scientist. My lessons began with Billy Green, for 2 years starting in the 5th grade, continued with Scott McIntosh in the 7th grade through to 12th grade.. Then I took masterclasses from Joshua Smith on saxophone for a year in San Francisco in 2008. Studied with Andy Tran for 2 years on guitar and composition. After the 10th and final year of study, my musical understanding was whole. This by no means signifies I reached its limits but stands to say that I can help others navigate it's murky waters with calm and steadfast certainty. Took a masterclass from Chris McQueen of Snarky Puppy 2016 to learn Modern Jazz Guitar Voicings. Today I arrange, compose, play 5 instruments, sing, and teach music. No degree but trust me, I will help my students (IE You or your Child) find their way to making music with the most ease, confusion free!
