FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My range is $500 to play solo for a 3 hour event, $900 for guitar and bass duo, $1400 for guitar, bass, and drums trio. That being said, there are many factors that can affect pricing, so I usually like to have a chat before I give a firm commitment.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I establish the location, how many people are expected to attend, the type of music desired, and the band arrival time. Generally we arrive 60 minutes before start, unless the load-in is complicated. When we decide that we are a good fit, I'll prepare a basic contract outlining the details, and we will take a 50% deposit.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I started taking guitar lessons at 14, and playing professionally at age 20. I attended University of Colorado Denver music school in 1975, Musicians' Institute Hollywood in 2004, where I received a commercial music certificate, and took 8 courses at Berklee college of music. In addition I studied with Bill Frisell in Denver, Dale Bruning, and Howard Roberts. I have toured to 16 countries and 40 states with my band Hillbilly Hellcats.
