FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge an hourly rate based upon the type of work requested, so you can set your budget and choose how much or how little time you’d like me to put in. I am typically able to give a rough estimate of total project length after the first hour of editing. Curious what this would look like for your project? Just ask!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Before starting a project, I typically want to know what your goal for the project is, whether you have done any other editing or coaching, and what your deadline is. Once we are on the same page, we will each sign a short contract and I'll get started immediately! For speaking engagements, we can discuss your intended audience, setup requirements, logistics, and answer any initial questions you may have.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a B.A. in English, a J.D. in law, and nearly a decade of experience in the legal field. I received the highest grade in my class on my legal writing exam in law school. I am a member of several professional groups for writers and editors. I also attend and present at conferences about all aspects of the writing, editing, and coaching processes.
