Introduction: My approach to tutoring is very personalized -- I will work with you to meet your goals, whether they are bringing up your grade, learning French for an upcoming trip, or brushing up a skill for fun. I always come prepared and will use a variety of exercises in our tutoring sessions. I have a large library of resources and can work with you to build vocabulary and conversational skills. I am also able to work on the 4 skills (reading, writing, listening, and speaking), and grammar acquisition. My students tell me that I am good at clearly explaining grammar concepts and that the practices we do are helpful. I truly enjoy working with a variety of students. I like getting to know my students on a more personal level, which makes me better able to plan our tutoring sessions. It is very rewarding to see students grow and progress during the time we work together.

Madame Megan began to tutor me a couple of months ago. She is always prompt, organized, fun, clear, and overall a wonderful teacher. She makes French fun. I would highly recommend her to anyone. You will not regret having her as a tutor. I could not be happier with her performance as a French tutor.

Megan is passionate about teaching French and it shows. She has great knowledge of the material and does an excellent job of explaining the rules and many nuances of the French language. My French has really improved through my lessons with Megan (even though I'm not great at completing my homework).

My experience with Madame Megan has been wonderful so far. I've been receiving help from her for a little under a year, and I love it. She is very kind, allows for a little bit of goofing around as needed, and is very understanding of her students needs and goals with french. She is extremely organized, and has and fluent understanding of the language, and easily understood teaching style.

FAQs

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I have a basic starting rate, but can be a bit flexible with it. If you would like for me to come to you, then I add on to the starting rate. I also add on for tutoring AP- and IB-levels (French IV & V) because the preparation is more. I lower my rate if you are willing to come to me, or if we can meet in the middle somewhere. My rate is also lower if you'd like to meet for less than 1 hour.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Before starting to work together, I like to gather a little information -- what would you like to work on? What is your background with French? Where do you struggle? What are your strengths? What are your goals? This will help me prepare for our first meeting.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BA in French with a concentration in Secondary Education. I have a MA in French, with a 4.0 GPA. I have taught middle school, high school, and university level French, and I have tutored students of all ages -- from age 2-mature adults.
