Introduction: Faux Paws and Co. Is a business driven by artists that achieve finishes through years of training in product and design. We choose the appropriate products to use for lasting and durable finishes for our customers. Our specialty in design assures each customer is getting the appropriate interior finish to enhance and update their home. The first one hour consultation is free to our potential customers so we may show you examples of our work and discuss what we may do for you to update your home. The design process is the most fun and challenging part of our work. Creating new looks for specific interiors by listening to our customers desires of what they would like to have as a finished product. The feel, the colors, lighting, architecture, and flow of the home all come into play when creating custom looks for our customers.

Cindy Norris and her company Faux Paws, in one word - AMAZING! My husband and I met Cindy at a workshop she was teaching. We went home, did some "faux" on our walls, and later on down the line hired Cindy to come to our new home and consult with us. She understood where we wanted to go immediately...even though my husband and I weren't entirely sure how to communicate what we wanted (for example - my husband literally told her he wanted a finished look to be "uniformly un-uniform". If I were her I would have ran for the hills). She brought sample boards and really walked us through everything. My husband and I quickly fell in love with Cindy and her work. After faux painting practically our entire main floor (approx 3500 sq ft of the over 4000 sq ft) we have brought Cindy back in for several projects. She has always brought creative, new ideas and processes to our attention to help us achieve the kind of look and feel we want. She has painted our ceilings with metallic paints, done a venetian plaster-type treatment in our sun room, distressed and painted our kitchen island, faux painted our mud room cabinets, stenciled designs on our kitchen hood...you name it, Cindy can do it. Whether or not you know what you want, Cindy has a talent in achieving it perfectly (my husband is probably THE most anal person and Cindy can do no wrong in his eyes). She has an incredible eye for color and design. As I said earlier, she has sample boards that she shows you so you know exactly what you are in for. She is her own worst critic and is a perfectionist - if anything were to be off with a color or something she would notice it before you would. In addition to being incredibly talented, she is prompt on everything she promises (sample boards, etc), honest, punctual and always fair. We are currently in the works to build another home and Cindy is our go-to artist to consult with - she is the only one we want working on our home. Obviously, I cannot say enough good things about Cindy. Her work is phenomenal and she is a great person to boot, can't get much better than that!

We worked with Cindy on re-creating our fireplace. In the end, I can only describe the transformation as amazing. Cindy came to our house to give us a free consultation; she brought sample boards and was able to help us find a color/texture that fit our style. She was fabulous to work with. We had contractors come to our house to take down the current fireplace and build the new one. There were many delays with the construction and Cindy was so patient and accommodating to our schedule. When the construction was done Cindy came in to do the faux painting. We went with a metallic paint/plaster. Cindy even came back after we placed tile on the floor to touch up the edges. Cindy's inspiration, creativity and experience shows in her work. We could not have been happier with the final project and with Cindy. We are now known in the neighborhood for the house with the beautiful fireplace. I would highly recommend Cindy to anyone who is looking for faux painting, she is exceptional.

Cindy had faux finished half of my house. She came around 3-4 times to faux finished different rooms. Im very satisfied with her work! Shes excellent, professional, friendly, and always on time. Her work is undeniably of pure quality. The strong quality she has is that shes very knowledgeable and has great suggestion. She gives feedback on items pro and cons and results driven. I would definitely like to give her a name out. The work she did on my house was a fabulous job. Cindy is so easy to work with and very laid back all. All I have are excellent things to say about her.

Cindy had initially replied for cabinet refinishing but I ended up hiring her to paint and stencil the kitchen, which turned out to be a more complicated job than expected (the walls were not straight). She did excellent work, kept in touch via email/phone/text, and worked well with my property manager. Professional, responsible, definitely recommend.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Keeping current with my education in the decorative arts field is most important to my business. Each year I make a new plan on training and seminars to attend for the year. It is important to know new products in the market as well as new design trends. I take this information and taylor it to my customers needs and budgets.
What types of customers have you worked with?
My job is diversified to many types of interior finishes. One area of home improvement that is hot right now is to update kitchen cabinets and good dining room furniture sets. I help my customers with decisions on how to update their look with designs created for their specific likes and budgets. Kitchen cabinets once updated with a painted finish will increase the value of your home.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I recently had a customer that interviewed me extensivley and then asked for refferences. My customer followed up with the refferences I gave her. I think she is a smart woman and it is a good business practice to check out the credibility of the person you are going to hire.
