Hello! My name is Gaylene Cazier and my lesson horse’s name is Malcolm. I have 40+ years experience in training, riding, and 10+ years in teaching. Malcolm is a kind, older quarter horse who takes care of his riders and is a willing partner. My lessons are structured into three parts: first, a focus on horsemanship to include grooming, saddling, bridling, safety, horse care and an overall knowledge of the horse. Second, to develop an independent, balanced seat through guided gymnastic exercises on the horse. Finally, to independently ride and steer the horse using light aides, with a focus on breath, rhythm and body control. The lessons take place in an indoor and outdoor arena with a mindful and fun atmosphere to cultivate a positive, can-do attitude. My goal is for my students to love, respect and form a positive, effective communication with the horse and to develop a strong foundation in riding so that they can excel at any discipline confidently and safely.
