Introduction: Hello! My name is Gaylene Cazier and my lesson horse’s name is Malcolm. I have 40+ years experience in training, riding, and 10+ years in teaching. Malcolm is a kind, older quarter horse who takes care of his riders and is a willing partner. My lessons are structured into three parts: first, a focus on horsemanship to include grooming, saddling, bridling, safety, horse care and an overall knowledge of the horse. Second, to develop an independent, balanced seat through guided gymnastic exercises on the horse. Finally, to independently ride and steer the horse using light aides, with a focus on breath, rhythm and body control. The lessons take place in an indoor and outdoor arena with a mindful and fun atmosphere to cultivate a positive, can-do attitude. My goal is for my students to love, respect and form a positive, effective communication with the horse and to develop a strong foundation in riding so that they can excel at any discipline confidently and safely.

My daughter has learned more in her two years at Liberty than she did in the three years prior. Gaylene really takes the time to teach proper form and technique. She is very caring and patient with her students. I would highly recommend Liberty Equestrian Academy to anyone interested in riding.

She is an excellent horsewoman and teacher who loves horses and her students. Our daughter learned a lot from the very first lesson on. There is a horse available to ride and no fancy extras are required. By the end of a five-pack of lessons our daughter was able to have the horse run through the field and ride around the whole property. Definitely a great value!
