FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was originally in construction during the housing market boom. When it fell under i was let go along with most of my colleagues. My wife's uncle who had a locksmith business trained me and gave me the opportunity to work for him. I never realized how much i loved the job. I later moved out of State to Colorado to start All American Lock and Key.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
My most common types of jobs are making replacement car keys. On occasion i do rekeys and lockouts but my favorite job is making a car key, maybe because i never know what im going to come across and that keeps things interesting.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
one of my most recent jobs that i am proud of was a customers VW Jetta he called about and wanted a lock installed on. This door lock is very easy to install but when i got there he handed me an ignition cylinder which i have never done before and could not find even a lick of info about on the internet. Well about two hours later and a lot of thinking i had the ignition replaced and the customer was happy.
