Introduction: Selecting the right DJ can be confusing. There are over 15,000 DJs in America; all promising that they'll do a great job for you. How do you tell which one is best for you? The perfect DJ should be, above all, experienced at your type of event. Probably the worst way to choose a DJ is on price alone. Some DJs are more expensive than others. Prices can vary widely, and it would be tempting to choose the cheapest alternative. If that's all you can afford, then you have no choice. But consider the law of supply and demand. There is a good reason some DJs charge more than others; they are usually worth it. They can charge more because they have a lot of jobs, and they have a good reputation. Generally, the DJs on the low end of the price scale are new to the business and trying to get established. More expensive DJs tend to be more experienced and much better equipped! Some DJs only have minimal audio and lighting, whereas better DJs will have state-of-the-art audio and lighting. I am one of CT's favorite wedding DJs.
