Caryn is so down to earth and intelligent!! She does her research when she isn’t familiar with something and learns it right away! She comes so prepared and sometimes you don’t even have any questions since she’s already answered them all without you even asking. I am so looking forward to our continuous journey together!

About this pro

I take the time get to know my clients: it's the key to creating their just-right space. I love what I do! I start with my clients when they are just not sure what to do with a space, and I move a project through the process to a space my clients love to live or work in. It looks great, functions just the way they wanted, and they're happy. That's so rewarding.

    Q & A

    • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We arrange for a first call or visit (free of charge), and they tell me their story: what their goals are for the project, what they like and dislike. We talk. I go over how I work: I have a step-by-step process, and you can hire me for all or any part of the process. After the meeting, I put together a custom quote based on our conversation, and send it off. I don't quote a fixed rate because everyone's needs are different! I pride myself on creating something just for that client from the beginning.
    • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BS in interior design/architecture, and an MS in management. I am an NCIDQ licensed interior designer.
    • How did you get started doing this type of work?
I earned my bachelor's in interior design at a school with a great interiors program. From there I went to work at in Philadelphia, at a large, international architecture firm doing commercial interiors in corporate, higher education, and retail design. I was lucky to get great experience on some pretty cool projects. I did my first residential project there and loved it. After moving to Connecticut and having my kids, I struck out on my own, and am so glad I did! I've been designing for a total of almost 20 years, and I still get such satisfaction from what I do.
