Quiet, gentle horses - Acres of trails - Indoor and Outdoor Arenas - Great Instructor - Non-judgmental atmosphere. This is a great place for adult riders of any skill level.
I like that Sara asked what my riding goals are right away. She puts the student first, not pressuring me to do more than I want. Very friendly, down to earth facility with great horses.
Hidden Pines Farm is a great place. I have boarded my horse here for years. The owner is the nicest, outgoing, caring, loving person in the world. She will go out of her way to help others and take care of your horse. I have never had a problem. As for the hay, they have amazing hay. They just switched their hay people and i couldnt love it more! My horse is very well taken care of at Hidden Pines. To the person above who is complaining about bonfires, they DO NOT have big fires, AT ALL!!! Defiantly not big enough to reach the loft. THE DOORS ARE ALWAYS CLOSED. I know that because I close them. They would never have flames that high for that reason. I have seen numerous firefighters every time there is a fire. Actually one of my good friends is a firefighter and he is there ever time we have a fire. Hidden pines farm wouldnt do anything to hurt the animals or the barn. All horses that come onto the property need to have proof of vaccinations and coggins. So no horse has any parasites/ diseases. They do switch some of the horses around but about twice a week they go and pick out the paddocks. I personally wouldnt want my horse in the same place every day. She would get bored. Hidden Pines is very clean. They have always kept the water clean and filled to the top. Outside boarders are welcome, and if you board outside you are responsible for cleaning your shed. I keep my horse in the barn and they clean the stalls and all the details and do a great job. My horse always has a clean stall and good hay. Hidden Pines feeds there horses very well. For the comment above I dont know who you are but there was a very strong reason why they buried their horse there. That horse belonged to the owner and the horse has been on the property for many, many years and that was her favorite place to graze and be turned out in. there is nothing wrong with doing that. And you shouldnt have a problem with it. I LOVE HIDDEN PINES FARM!! They are really great people and as I said I have never had a problem with my horse here. I highly recommend this farm to anyone who likes to have a quiet place to keep there horse. There is never drama, actually the only barn that barley has drama!
The amazing coaching/ training team takes a genuine interest in both my daughter and me as we focus on our riding. We have purchased 2 horses through AVSS and are happy to board them on the property. The staff pays close attention to horse care and making sure a love and care of horses is infused into every aspect of the riding experience.
I went to Gold Rush Farmswith my fiance to take a lesson and trail ride. During my lesson the instructor was not only extremely knowledgable, but also made me feel at ease seeing as I don't have much riding experience. And the trail ride was just the icing on the cake!! It was so beautiful and Roy, the horse I was riding, was just so sweet. Not to mention the gorgeous Spring views! My fiance ans I had such a wonderful time. I was also pleased to learn that all the trail rides are private, meaning besides the guide, you don't go out with a group of people that ypu don't know. It was also awesome how they had their own private trails on property. We will definitely be visiting Gold Rush Farms on a regular basis!
Rachael was very patient with my grandaughter's first riding experience. Rchael encouraged confidence by noticing and verbalizing the positive in alexandria's choices.

"Not your average horse riding lessons!" This is coaching on how to handle, read, and control horses based on how they communicate with each other- in other words, you will learn the language of the horse! We begin with safety, controlling and directing the horse on the ground, gaining confidence and a rapport with the horses. We follow the Parelli Natural Horsemanship model, and utilize their extensive online information and video tools, Savvy Club DVDs and magazines. Homework is often given in the form of some reading or to view a video online. It's fun for any age beginner or for someone with their own horse who feels there is "something missing!" We offer one- to three-hour lessons with our horses for $35 per hour. If you have your own horse and need coaching, we will travel up to an hour from central CT to coach you at your farm for $45 per hour. Our customers love the special bond and communication they form with the horses, as well as the special understanding of being able to read the horse to know what, when, where and why to do next!
