Asked him to make my flowerbed look nice….wasn’t satisfied at all… not sure where he bought the plants… horrible. All the plants dead now even with proper watering… wasted my money. Hiring someone professional to redo my flowerbed again.

He never measured anything when he came to give me an estimate on replacing the front steps. I did ask him at the estimate if he wanted to measure, but he boasted "I know what I'm doing", even AFTER I mentioned the existing steps were likely not up to code, and did not measure anything. On construction day, he showed up with the wrong stringers. I asked him to bring POI, he did not, and before even saying good morning to me, he was already ripping my stairs apart. During our agreement, I asked him to remove and replace posts and footings, he did not, he attempted to construct the stairs around the original bottom posts. When I reminded him of our agreement, he simply sawed them off below the new treads and left them there. He did not pour new footings, but screwed the posts into the treads and stringers. He completely refused to replace the newel posts at the top of the steps, saying "there are too many screws into the siding, I'm not going to deal with that", and gave me a bucket of white paint to "fix it myself". Complaining about the heat, he installed the railing upside down, and had to return the next day to replace it. Upon further inspection, he did an awful and unsafe job, I have some treads with 6 screws into the stringers, some with 4, most with 3, and two treads with only 2 screws in them, not attached at all to the outside stringer. The job he did resulted in steps LESS safe and secure than the old ones we were replacing. The railings are now quite wobbly because he completely disregarded our original agreement and cut corners on safety. 5 steps, new posts and railings, composite lumber = $2000. and I'll be having them redone PROPERLY in a couple years because I do not feel secure walking on unsecured treads while holding to a wobbly rail. Never Again. What a waste of money on shoddy workmanship.
