This guy would not work with my schedule. He was going to give me a discounted price which I thought was nice. The problem was I could not be here the next day. He became rude and said if I couldn't do it tomorrow, the price would go up 50.00. I've never had someone raise the price on me because I couldn't drop everything I had to do to accommodate his schedule; a professional works around the customers schedule. He also wanted to know if I had a latter. I thought that was strange since he cleans gutters and wanted me to supply a latter! Something is fishy about this guy. He was in an awful big hurry to make cash by tomorrow. I didn't trust him; especially his attitude! I will be using someone else.

If I could give zero stars, I would. I hired Josh through Thumbtack and paid him a $400 deposit — which he claimed was needed to purchase materials and begin work. He promised to start within days. That was the last time anything professional happened. Despite confirming dates and accepting payment, Josh never showed up. He then spent the following weeks dodging responsibility, blaming credit card processors, merchant delays, and even claiming overdraft fees caused by an “unexpected withdrawal” — none of which have anything to do with me, the paying client. Even after acknowledging in writing that the refund was owed, he failed to return the $400. At one point he claimed he was “willing to pay it back in $100 installments” because of his own financial mismanagement. Let that sink in — I paid upfront in good faith for work that was never started, and he’s now offering to refund in chunks like it’s a loan I gave him. His excuse-filled email included the bizarre line: “I honestly thought I was ‘high’” — which speaks volumes about how unseriously he’s treating his obligations. Thumbtack should not allow contractors like this on the platform. This experience was not only unprofessional, it was deceptive and financially damaging. If you’re considering hiring Josh or Handyvirtus, LLC — do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. Unless you want delays, broken promises, and your money held hostage, avoid this contractor at all costs. Josh: If you’re reading this — make it right, return the full deposit, and maybe this review can come down.
