FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Students can take half-hour, forty-five-minute, or hour-long lessons. My current rates are: -$30/30 minute lesson -$45/45 minute lesson -$60/60 minute lesson. These rates are competitive in our area, for a teacher with my level of education and expertise.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When I meet a new student, the first thing I do is take a few minutes to talk about their musical background and goals. Then, I listen to their singing voice by going through simple vocal exercises, and I begin to assess strengths and areas for improvement. From there, I can customize vocal exercises and find repertoire for the student to work through so they can start to build their skills!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a Bachelor's degree in Vocal Performance and Music Education from the Hartt School, and a Master's degree in voice/Early Music from the Longy School of Music. I earned a pK-12 CT music teacher certification during my undergraduate study, and a Teaching Artist certification during my graduate study. I have also done training in Contemporary Commercial Music Styles (essentially non-classical styles) at the Shenandoah Conservatory CCM Pedagogy Institute.
