I have known Elaine for many years. She has assisted me, several times, with redecorating various rooms in my home. Elaine's biggest challenge was my Great Room. The room is approximately 24'X24' L shaped completely paneled. The room originally had a beige leather couch, chair and ottoman, hunter green recliner, wood coffee and end tables, brick fireplace,built in shelves in the left corner of the room, natural color paneling and an array of antique and contemporary pieces. Elaine's suggestions were as follows: Paint the paneling, with the fireplace wall a different color than the rest of the walls, paint the fireplace a contrasting color, paint the bookshelves, replace the leather pieces with dark brown leather, a sage green recliner, and glass top tables. The suggestions were cost efficient and the room was created in a short period of time.The room looks and feels amazing. I could go on and on about Elaine's talent and expertise but I want to save room for someone else's experiences. I would like to invite anyone to my home to see her work. She truly is amazing.

The thing I really like about Elaine is that she listens to you and gets a feel for what kind of a person you are and what you like and don't like. She is then better equipped to help you when she does this. She has done much for me and my home, and I love it all. A very nice person who does an extremely great job. :)

Elaine helped create our beautiful addition including a family room and bathroom. She worked us throughout the whole process from designing the space to choosing just the right color paint. She was very knowledgable about all aspects of the project and was able to answer all our questions. It was a pleasure to work with her/

What did Elaine Curley Urban help you with? Where was the job? How long did it take? I am a contractor who interviewed Elaine and hired her to assist on the task of remodeling and updating a 1960s ranch in the Silvermine section of Norwalk. The project included the total remodel of 3 baths, kitchen and new family room addition as well as updating all materials within the house. Elaine selected the color palette and style theme for the home. Elaine provided the vision that would bring the house to a totally desirable market and culminate with a sale. She understood how to entice and expand our target market. The house sold immediately, just as the completion date neared. Elaine worked with me for a period of 3 ½ months. What impressed you about the service? Did Elaine Curley Urban go above and beyond? Was Elaine Curley Urban on time? How was the quality of the work? Elaine worked proactively to insure details and quantities were correct. She worked compatibly with tradesmen, communicated clearly and offered budget saving ideas where possible. Her attention to the job was unwavering. Elaines interior design skills are superior and impressive. Her knowledge of construction is very accommodating and her presence on the job site was a valuable asset. I am very pleased with Elaines professionalism and I look forward to hiring Elaine for my next project.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes, I attend trade shows on a regular basis and I complete CEU's annually on topics pertaining to my work. I read daily on newest trends and innovations! I recently completed a full day seminar on LED lighting!
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I am currently completing a 7200 sf design project that will be photographed and published soon. For another customer, I am equally proud of the rustic 1820's fireplace mantel that I upgraded with a few details required to enhance and to enable accessories to be placed on it. The finish applied was very accurate aged technique; no one knows it was added! The home also required a renovation of the main bathroom. This bath can be seen on my website--the new bath maintains the home's vintage (1800's) period while offering the family all the creature comforts! The bath can be viewed on my website.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Communicating your needs and likes are important to attaining satisfaction and beautiful results. It is a cost saving investment to begin with a designer when implementing products for your home. As a designer, I can plan your space, protect your investments, with early recommendations, avoiding costly mistakes! You see the end results before you spend!
