FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I generally give in-home estimates for free. I will quote a price online if I have enough information. For some simple services I have flat-rate pricing based on a minimum service fee. Also, I don't expect to be paid for most jobs until the job is completed and the customer is satisfied.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I generally assess their project based on either the information they provide over the phone, via email, or in person. I then send them a detailed quote later that day. Unless it's something that I think I can handle that day, in which case I just quote them a flat rate based on a minimum service fee and my knowledge from previous similar jobs as far as materials and time needed.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Over the last twenty years I have been a machinist, a carpenter, and an electrician. I have a degree in architectural design and one in business administration. I grew up around tradesmen. I can swing a hammer and design a house from the ground up in AutoCAD. Even as a kid I was always the family member who everyone handed their presents to when they needed them assembled. I was the guy everyone went to when they needed a car stereo installed, or a leaky roof patched.
