Ting is an absolute joy to work with. As a professional, she has reasonably priced packages and will work within your budget to ensure you can build a wardrobe that makes you happy. She is honest, direct, and helpful. As a person, she is just super easy to get along with. Working with Ting can feel more like a pair of friends hanging out more than a transactional service. This was my first time doing anything like this and she made me feel very comfortable. I highly highly recommend Ting!Mar 2, 2020Verified
I am probably one of the older clients that Ting has worked with. She helped me downsize my wardrobe and reconsider everything I own. She was would give me her views, but was understanding when I decided to keep a piece that was not optimal for me for whatever reason. She dug in and folded clothing that I was keeping and helped me to reorganize my pieces. I was not particularly looking for someone to build outfits for me, although I am confident that Ting would be good at this if that is what you are looking for. I am glad that I worked with Ting rather than a closet organizer professional because she had a good sense of “keep” or “toss.”Sep 8, 2019VerifiedTing Lin Fashion's reply
Thank you so much Pam! I’m glad I was able to help you in this process and really enjoyed working with you!
What first stood out to me about Ting was her kindness and attention to detail. She takes the time to listen to your needs and shows that she truly cares. She is very knowledgeable and takes the time to explain things in detail. Her professionalism is apparent through her articulation of the knowledge that she possesses. Her service is top notch and every cent you spend with her is worth it. Ting not only walks with you through the entire process but she also makes you feel like a friend. If you are in the market for a fashion consultant look no further, Tjng is the way to go.Oct 21, 2019VerifiedTing Lin Fashion's reply
Thank you so much for the kind words!
Ting worked with me to define my personal style and helped me shop for looks to complete my wardrobe. She was very knowledgeable and understood exactly what I needed. I will continue to use her in the future, and highly recommend her to anyone looking for fashion related services.May 9, 2018VerifiedTing Lin Fashion's reply
Thank you Emil for your kind words! We had a very strong start and I look forward to accomplishing your goals with you in the coming months!
I think I was missing a fundamental understanding of how fashion works. I thought looking “put together” meant I needed to buy more polished items. But then I struggled incorporating those polished pieces into my everyday life. Ting helped me understand (and I know this should be obvious but it wasn’t to me) that different looks go for different occasions. My Ann Taylor stuff isn’t really the look I want at comedy clubs or pool party’s where something more urban or casual belongs. She showed me how to wear each cut of jeans and identified holes in my wardrobe based on the jeans I like to wear most. I thought I had already konmarie-d my closet but she got rid of a lot more which I resisted at first but then I put those items in a bag and so far haven’t wanted to reach into it once. I hear her in my head when I’m shopping now so I’m buying less and I’m making fewer mistakes with items I buy and then never wear. And at my last work event, I got comments like “wow, you look more confident... there’s something different about you, what is it... you look great today, I’ve noticed you’ve taken a step up in deciding what to wear.” I’m in my 40s and my wardrobe was a mix of my social life in my 20s, my new mom life in my 30s and I guess who I thought I’d be in my 50s with no real items that are just me and who I am today in my 40s. I bought 8 hours at first and then went ahead and added another 8 because it’s a process. It’s been nice to do it in chunks and just address what comes up when it comes up. We tackled my work event and my closet first (probably in the wrong order because I was short on time since I waited till the last minute to find her). Then my everyday life and the kinds of outfits I need most (which included a look at my jeans and how to wear them). Then my shoes. And I booked another 8 hours for more shoe help and accessories, more help putting outfits together and help finding the right outerwear because even in summer I need jackets and sweaters for air conditioning. Eventually another closet clean out will be necessary as we’re replacing my most worn stuff with newer/fresher items and since I tend to buy most of my stuff used and on clearance, I’m buying more items than you might if you only want the most trendy stuff in the right season and you’re paying full price. So hopefully that helps you decide. I consider myself to be a pretty classic mom in her 40s. I work hard and occasionally need to get dressed up for work events but otherwise I’m a jeans and t shirt girl who just wants to look nice at PTA meetings, birthday parties, nights out with friends and an occasional book club and BBQ. I needed to find out why other moms always look more put together and I look frumpy and I think I got that and more. The more time I spend with her, the more I’m learning and the more comfortable I look and feel.May 10, 2019Verified

- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I would like to have a call or meet the new client in person, to get to know them and their fashion goals before we start the fashion journey together. Then I will send the new client a few documents, including a contract that needs to be signed before we can work together. Once the documents are reviewed, signed, and deposit is paid, then we schedule for the first appointment. Overall, I think it's important to establish common understanding, trust, and open communication with all clients in order to have a positive working relationship.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I studied Apparel Design in college and have many years of retail experiences working with brand names like: Guess by Marciano, BCBGMaxazria, Yigal Azrouel, Maje, and Saks Fifth Avenue. I have worked with a variety of customers in understanding their individual style needs and delivering satisfactory results. I always put the people before the sales numbers. Recently, I have obtained the "Personal Stylist Certification" from School of Style.
