- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
What should the customer know about your pricing? I offer 10% off for military, law enforcement, and senior citizens. Every job is quoted up front. I look at what you actually need, give you an exact price before any work starts, and that's the price you pay — nothing added at the end. Most jobs are flat rate, so in many cases I can give you the number over the phone. There's a $19 service call fee, and it goes toward the work if you hire me. And if it turns out your lock is fine and doesn't need replacing, I'll tell you that instead of selling you something. *************************************************
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
You reach me directly — not a call center, not a dispatcher. I'll ask a couple of questions about the lock or the door, and if you can text me a photo, even better: I can usually identify the hardware from it and bring the right parts on the first trip instead of the second. Then I give you an honest arrival time and a price range before I head out. When I get there, I look at the job and confirm the exact price before any work starts. That number is what you pay. For lockouts, I always try non-destructive entry first — picking and bypass — so your lock keeps working exactly as it did before. Drilling is a last resort, and you'd hear about it from me before it ever came to that. When the work is done I test everything with you, walk you through anything new, and clean up before I leave. Every job carries a 1-year parts and labor warranty, so if something isn't right afterward, call me and I'll come back. Same-day appointments, seven days a week, 9 AM to 7 PM.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
BC Locksmith is fully licensed and insured in Florida, and I've been working as a locksmith across Palm Beach and Broward County since 2017. Most of what matters in this trade is hands-on. Over the years I've worked on just about everything: builder-grade deadbolts, mortise locks in 1920s homes, high-security cylinders, master key systems for apartment buildings and offices, panic hardware and exit devices, access control, and hurricane shutter locks. I also stay current on smart lock technology, which changes fast. I install and program Wi-Fi and keypad locks from all the major manufacturers and set them up on your phone before I leave, so you're not left figuring out an app on your own.
