FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Depending upon the scope of the project, I charge an initial fee of $125 for my initial residential/commercial appointment. After that, my hourly fee can vary between $60 - $75, depending upon the scope of the project.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I meet with my new client at their property. I interview the client asking questions concerning the use of the room(s), style, color, budget, etc. I take measurements and photographs. If a retainer fee is necessary, I collect it. All information is brought back to my office where floor plans are drawn to scale with computer software; colors, fabrics, furniture, etc. are selected based on the client's specifications. The client is called back in to my office for my presentation. At that point, client approval of the project is established and the design ball starts rolling until completion of the project.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a double Bachelor of Arts degree. I have taken design classes, upholstery classes and I always keep abreast of the trends via the internet and publications for the trade.
