FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing is based on the average for the area and by length of visit and number of visits per day. Occasionally, I will run discounts for first time clients.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After communicating with the client via Thumbtack or text, I like to set up a meet and greet. At the meet and greet I meet the owner/owners and the pet needing services. I like to make sure the pet is comfortable with me as well as the owner who will be trusting me with the best care for their animals. At this time the owner can go over the tasks they would like me to do while they are away from home.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a biology degree from Calvin University in Grand Rapids, MI. While I was there, I tried to take as many classes as I could in relation to animals and animal behavior. While in school, I volunteered at a wildlife center where I was able to gain hands on experience taking care of injured and orphaned wildlife. After graduation, I decided that daily animal husbandry was what I was passionate about. Therefore, my first job was as a zookeeper and eventual bird and mammal curator at a local zoo. My experiences there gave me more understanding and knowledge of many varieties of animals, as well as learning various methods of training.
