Introduction: I teach individuals... not just music. Each student is unique. Lessons should proceed at a speed that is comfortable for them. The goal is not to create concert pianists, but to enable each student to play and enjoy piano music. I like getting to teach one student at a time and sharing my love of music. Our work together includes playing, review, theory, and challenges. It's important that students learn to read and interpret music independently, not just by rote. My students look forward to lessons which is just as it should be! The price quoted is the monthly tuition for one lesson per week (30 minutes). 60 minute lessons would be $125 per month. I teach in my home in North Deland.

Years ago, when my son, Jacob, the youngest of my 4 children, was in elementary school and decided he wanted to take piano lessons, I knew without hesitation that Alayne Galbreath was the perfect music teacher for him. Ms Galbreath has been an elementary school teacher for many years and was Kindergarten teacher to Jacob's 2 older brothers. I was always impressed by how kind and caring Ms Galbreath was with all her students and their parents. Her patience and calm nature always amazed me...and years later, it still does! Jacob took piano lessons from Ms Galbreath for about 10 years until he moved away to attend college in the Summer of 2014. Jacob absolutely enjoyed going to his lessons and never in those years wanted to skip one, even if he had not practiced during the week like he should have. The reason is because Ms Galbreath makes those she has contact with feel welcomed and like they matter to her. Jacob looked forward to going to his lessons each week as much to visit Ms Galbreath as he did to learn music. My only regret is that my older children did not have the same opportunity and positive experience to learn about music in a fun and nurturing way like Jacob did. On his list of those who have been positive influences in Jacob's life, Ms Galbreath ranks at the top of his list. While in elementary school, Jacob also enjoyed taking recorder lessons from Ms Galbreath. I appreciate that she had always been flexible with lesson times over the years when Jacob was involved in sports, school obligations, had doctors appointments and other events that impact our daily schedules. I am confident that anyone who takes music lessons from Ms Galbreath, and/or anyone who meets her, will not be disappointed.
