I belong to several Santa organization. We meet several times a year for the camaraderie, sharing of stories, and any other inspirations. I have a 4 year Bachelors of Santa Claus degree from Charles W. Howard Santa Claus School. (the school is the oldest in the world, nearly 80 years and still a waiting list to attend. This year I am attending another Santa school as a brushup to determine how I can improve my presentation.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I think it was a combination of things: Gray hair and beard, I think of myself a jovial most of the time. I love the looks from young and old when they see me in June or any other time of the year. If I see someone with a smile, or someone who has just done something nice for someone else and a child with a happy disposition, I will hand out a "YOU ARE ON SANTA'S NICE LIST" card. Many times I place the card to be a surprise and bring a little happiness to someone. THIS IS THE BEST JOB I HAVE EVER HAD......
- What types of customers have you worked with?
My visits consist of bringing JOY. Many times I have no idea what to expect, I will just go with the feel of those I am visiting.
