FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I do not have a standard pricing system. I charge by the project and not by the hour. Projects vary widely and so do prices. The last thing you want when working with a stylist is to have an hourly rate. There are just too many things that could potentially happen when shopping that will cause a slow down and have you worrying about the clock. Think slow sales associates that take a really long time to ring up your purchases! One all inclusive price allows us to take the time necessary focus completely on you and have an enjoyable time in the process. The in-home consultation allows me to understand what is involved in the project and price it accordingly.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically, I speak with the prospective client on the phone first. If the two of us feel that we might be a match, I will set an appointment for a FREE no-obligation meeting at the client's home. This will allow me to see what the client's real issues are. Sometimes, even the client isn't quite sure why he can't pull everything together. Once I see his closet and get a feel for his lifestyle, I come up with a series of recommendations that will take him to where he wants to go. This usually includes one or more shopping sessions and one or more sessions where I put outfits together and photograph them in a permanent Look Book.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I am a problem solver. Although every client is different, the problems I solve fall into only a few categories. 1. A client is in a rut, always wearing the same few things and is ready to a make a change, but doesn't feel up to the challenge on his/her own. 2. A client is entering a new phase of life or has just undergone a transition (divorce, promotion, dating again, weight loss etc) they want their image to reflect where they are now, and need professional advice to get it right. 3. A client simply has no time to build and manage a wardrobe effectively, but they know it's important, so they reach out for Style Consulting Services so they can be the most efficient with their time and money. The bottom line is there are a lot of reasons that people pick up the phone to call me, but at the end of the day, the solutions all involve listening, consulting, shopping and styling someone to a level they had previously not thought possible.
