FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I typically don't charge hourly for my time. I simply work of a cost plus basis or commission basis. I do however require a retainer which is applied to the cost of furniture or materials to complete the job. The retainer is based on the size of your project.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes, I take approximately 20 units of continuing education credits every year.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have always had a passion for design. While in high school I started taking drafting classes and was an active member of the national art honors society. I received my bachelors degree in interior design from Florida State University. After graduating I went to work for a national workplace design firm in New York City. I later returned to Florida to attend Florida International University where I graduated with a Masters in Interior Design with a focus in sustainability and a Masters Certificate in Environmental studies. While in graduate school I worked for a high-end residential design firm in Miami and continued on after graduation. In 2011 I met my husband and moved to Fort Lauderdale which is where I decided to pursue my dream of opening my own business, LCL Interiors.
