FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge by the hour and by the project. The only thing that gets complicated is when a client does not understand that more work equals more money, just like in any profession. For some reason some people think that the starting price of a design should include endless renditions for the same price. That part of my pricing can get complicated, and every customer is special, so I can't put out prices like say a restaurant can. So I listen to each of my customer's carefully and then I know what to explain and where there may be additional charges. Its never my customer's fault not to know when things cost more. Its up to me to know what and how I design, and when and where the meter starts clicking again. I'm very careful with this. We all work hard for our money and want a good product with value for this money. I try my best to fulfill this.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I stay in continued education all the time -- and these days its really out there. YouTube, wow, who can say more. But I take online courses from a variety of resources learning new things I think will help my customers, like responsive web design. This is where a web design automatically adjusts to the device the web site visitor is using to view the web site. The web site can be seen on your cell phone in one size and then automatically change sizes to fit on your desktop computer -- and all sizes in between. I love it. Big Creek Farms, Emerald Coast Storehouse and Cabana Guy are three responsive web sites that are done and up and running right now. More are coming.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I think God decided that when I was born. I just followed the path. I am happy I did. I am now good at both digital and traditional methods.
