Introduction: I am certified in many areas of hairdressing. I love to provide my clients with a great experience every time they visit. As a member of American Hair Loss Association, it brings me a great amount of satisfaction to be able to help someone who is struggling with hair loss to have the head of hair that they feel that they should be able to have. I love working with many different aspects of hair. Hair cutting, color, hilighting, smoothing services, extensions as well as hair replacement for men and women. I would have to say what I enjoy about the work that I do is this. It is really wonderful to help someone to feel better about themselves via a great color, cut, extensions or hair replacement. I can say that it can feel pretty amazing to help someone feel better about themselves.

After struggling to find a good hairstylist in Minneapolis when I moved there, I was not excited to start my search again when I moved to Gainesville. Someone recommended I see Bryan and he did not disappoint. I'm a simple gal and like my hair to look good without much fuss. If you're the same you know that a good haircut is the key! In the 5 years I've been going to him, I can't think of a single complaint. My hair is always great! In fact, I got a cut right before heading up north for a wedding I was in and got in trouble from the hairstylist for getting a haircut right before the wedding. But she also said that "Whoever cut your hair did a perfect job. Never let anyone else cut your hair". And I haven't...

Bryan has been cutting my hair for 5 years, and as long as were both in Gainesville no one else will cut my hair. I am extremely picky about who cuts it it is a short bob with short bangs, the type of hair cut that is super unforgiving if someone does it poorly. For the first year I lived in Gainesville I traveled back to Jacksonville to have my old hair stylist do my hair because I was scared to go just anywhere in Gainesville and have someone mess up my hair. I did a lot of research on the internet and it seemed like Bryan was the person to go to. I had a tight college budget back then but I always found a way to make it work because it was well worth the money to have a flawless haircut. Bryan also did a BEAUTIFUL ombre for me a few years ago. I get compliments on my hair frequently, but when I had the ombre I had a lot of hair stylists come up to me and comment on how well done it was and ask who in Gainesville did my hair. I always look forward to getting my hair cut because it means I get to take a couple hours out of my chaotic life to relax and hang out. Bryan keeps me laughing the whole time Im in his chair. I always enjoy our time together. I dont ever really leave reviews for places (Im busy!!) but I truly love Bryan and know that Im lucky to have found such an awesome hair stylist here. (Please dont ever leave Gainesville, Bryan!!)

Bryan was amazing! He was so funny and made my very long day much more enjoyable. As far as my cut and color are concerned- flawless!!! My cut and color are EXACTLY what I wanted!!! I have to say finding a stylist that listens and really does everything to give you what youre desiring (within reason) is hard to find. I am pleased to have FINALLY after 5 years of living here, found someone who does my hair well and just as amazing as my salon back in Tennessee. Im very pleased and would recommend Bryan to anyone. I also loved learning about all of the cool things he does other than cutting and coloring hair. He does extensions, hair restorations, and literally so much more so there is something he can do for any and all types of hair. Impressive. :) Thanks Bryan for making me look FABULOUS!!

He might be great with hair per reviews... But, unfortunately, I didn't get that far. I was unfamiliar with the area. So, with his directions, mapping it out myself ahead of time online, I made my way to the address to find myself in front of homes. I was confused and called, to get further directions. Seemed I just needed to be told I was going to a house... After this, as I was pulling into the driveway, just 10 min after my appointment, I was turned away. Rather explain how lost I was than see me face to face an reschedule. I was in the driveway. Edit: "I am sorry you found finding my studio so challenging." Well, Dean... I explained to you that I have had neurosurgery. I didn't put this in my review previously because I didn't think it was neccessary. Now, I do. I had explained that I was bad at directions. Simply... I was under the impression I was going to a studio and not a private residence. That is where this whole situation got confused. Now, if we can stop playing this childish blame game, that would be great. GPS actually brought me right to your home, only I didn't think I was at the right place since you said GPS was frequently wrong AND I WAS AT A HOUSE. All you kept saying was "Go to the bacK." Back of WHAT?? Again, just terrible communication... So, no thanks for being at all understanding of my situation, once again... and then blaming me for the situation. And, actually, I called the first time prior to the appointment. However, there was no answer. I called again at 2:19, 4 minutes after my appointment. Again at 2:21 because we got disconnected, and then at 2:25 (10 minutes late as I stated previously NOT LIES LIKE DEAN SPOUTS.) when I finally arrived. My appointment was at 2:15. So, when you (Dean) told me to leave I was finally sitting in your driveway AND it was actually still my appointment time. That's when you said you couldn't see me face to face. It is not my fault that you already sat someone else (as your review response stated.) in the chair knowing I was struggling to get to you, during my appointment. Seems like this is more of an argument than a resolution anyway. Like I said before... probably better off. All I needed was to be told I was going to a house... like I have said MANY time before. That was not stated once until the 3rd phone call. I, literally, drove past that house 3 times... thinking I was at the wrong place because Dean kept saying "It's hard to find." Ironic, eh?

I am sorry that you found finding my studio so challenging. This is why I sent very detailed directions when you booked your appointment. I gave you several direction options to follow and shared that most GPS takes people to the wrong address. When you called the first time it was already halfway into your 15 minute consultation. When you called the second time, it was at what would have been the end of your 15 minute consultation. I was more than willing to see you after the current client. This was a hair replacement client, they do not like to have strangers in their space when they are having their hair done as they feel naked. I am sorry that you feel that I was not willing to work with you on your hair challenge. I was more than happy to reschedule you for later on the same day. Thank you for your review, I hope that you are able to find someone that you can work with.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
If you follow my facebook page, Hair by Bryan Dean, you can often find some great deals there. If you are already a client of mine, you will earn referral rewards when sending in new clients. I offer a larger reward for referrals to my hair replacement and extension referrals. I do not have different pricing for children.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
This depends on the type of need. If a client has a hair cut and or color need, then they can book their first appointment with the addition of a consultation to allow us to both have time to be able to create the understanding for the look that the client would like to have. When I am working with a hair replacement, restoration, or extension client I will have to have a consultation to allow me to be able to understand the needs of the client, make the order that is needed to purchase the hair that will be needed to allow the client to achieve the look that they are going for.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am always attending classes to move my skill level and understanding of my craft forward. Yearly I attend the American Hair Loss Council as well as the American Board Certified Hair Colorists hair color summit. These are two large all education oriented shows that I like to attend yearly. I am always attending or working as an educator at some sort of educational event. Knowledge is power so I like to keep the knowledge moving forward.
