FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing always includes a design idea and consultation with up to two revisions on the initial design, all paints and materials, and travel expenses within a 150 mile radius. For murals charge $25 pre square foot. More detailed information is needed for pricing a series of book illustrations, however the range falls between $200 to $300 per illustration.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, I consult with the client to identify what they are looking for in their visual(s). At this point, if agreed, we sign a contract for the work and a 50% deposit is applied to the contract. Then I work up a smooth draft of a design. When completed, I review the design with the client, and make up to two revisions as needed. A fee of $30 is charged for each revision beyond two. When approved, I begin the artwork. Half way through completion, another 25% of the payment is due. Once completed, the balance of the payment is expected.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BFA in Graphic Design. Since 1979, I have been working as a designer, fine artist, illustrator, muralist, and art educator in both permanent, employed situation as well as a freelance artist.
