FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Giving price quotes are very difficult. My default rate is $200 per hour, however, I don't like working per hour. Some work involves advanced expertise and should be billed at a higher rate. I don't want a client to not call me with a question because the clock is ticking. I prefer to evaluate the agreed upon work to be done and set a fixed price to do the work each year. I do help clients with tools and methods so that they can gather the information so I can spend less time which keeps the price down.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Initial consultation to determine work to be done and a fixed price based thereon. This is usually a 45 minute $200 consultation.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am required to complete 80 hours of Continued Professional Education (CPE) credits including at least 8 in accounting and auditing and 4 in ethics every two years for my Florida CPA license. I am required to take at least 24 credits in a specialty, mine being tax, every year to maintain my New York CPA license (or I can take 40 hours per year not concentrated in a specialty). I am required to take 40 credits per year in financial planning disciplines every year to maintain my Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) certification. I have also taught Intermediate Accounting, Cost Accounting, Corporate Finance and Income Taxation courses at Touro College South.
